Title: My First Experience Entering the English Department

The first day I joined the English department, my feelings were all over the place. I was so nervous, like I had a thousand butterflies in my stomach. My fear grew even stronger when I realized my vocabulary was still very limited. I worried that I wouldn’t be able to follow the lessons or understand what the lecturer was saying.

When the lecturer started speaking, I was surprised to hear them mixing English and Indonesian. At first, it threw me off. I didn’t expect to hear such a blend of languages in class. On one hand, it was a relief that the lecturer still used Indonesian, but on the other hand, it was a challenge. It was like a reminder that I needed to work even harder to improve my English skills.

Despite the fear and nervousness, I slowly started to feel more motivated. I saw this as an opportunity to learn more. Every day, I worked on building my vocabulary and got used to hearing the mix of two languages in class. Those first days were definitely challenging, but I feel more and more confident that I can get through this and keep improving.
